HamstersInfo.com is a free hamster care website run by Everly, a Milwaukee mom of two who has kept hamsters for most of her life. We help new and experienced owners set up the right cage, feed a safe diet, understand hamster behavior and spot health problems early.

Who’s behind this site
Hi, I’m Everly
I’m a Milwaukee-based mom of two, and I’ve been a proud owner of many hamsters throughout my life. Like a lot of people, I met my first hamster when I was very young. My family had several hamsters over the years, and I loved playing with them.
I didn’t fully appreciate these little animals until I grew up and my own children decided they wanted hamsters too. Suddenly I was the one responsible for choosing a cage, working out what was safe to feed them and figuring out why a hamster was suddenly acting strangely. So I set out to learn everything I could about caring for them properly.
I started HamstersInfo.com to share what I’ve learned with other families. The questions you’ll find answered here are the same ones we asked at home: what to do when you first get a hamster, which foods are dangerous and how to tell if a hamster is sick.
Over time the site has grown to cover guinea pigs as well, since many hamster owners consider one before choosing their pet.
